Graux Cyberlaw Consultancy

Title

The law is often perceived as complicated and inaccessible by anyone not sufficiently familiar with its inner workings. The IT sector is typically regarded in the same way by the technologically uninitiated. And yet, all e-activities (e-business, e-government, e-health, e-learning, ...) are expected to be easy to use, secure, trustworthy, and an improvement to your life and to that of your customers. Finding the right balance between legal certainty and user friendliness in this environment can be quite a challenge. None the less, challenges exist to be met.

So allow me to welcome you to this website. I am Hans Graux, an IT lawyer at the bar of Brussels, and a partner in the IT law firm time.lex. Since obtaining a Law degree (2002) and completing a complementary study in Informatics (2003), I have been involved professionally in IT Law throughout my professional career.

Over the past few years, this has given me the opportunity to build up an extensive experience in a variety of ICT-related legal fields, both on a Belgian and European scale, including matters of IT contract law, intellectual property protection (offline and on-line), data protection and privacy, domain name disputes, e-commerce, consumer protection, e-government and multimedia.

A more detailed overview of my capabilities as an IT lawyer can be found in the Consultancy section.

Hopefully this site can provide you with a first answer to any questions you may have, or at least give you an indication of where you may find them.

Best regards,

Hans Graux
